The files are retained only for the time needed to complete, review and deliver the audit, then handled according to the privacy notice linked below.

Custom code is not always clearly labelled.
Custom snippets, sections, assets, metafields, CSS, JavaScript and clearly commented changes can usually be identified reliably.
For unlabelled edits inside standard theme files, a two-version comparison cannot always prove whether a difference came from your developer or the theme vendor. The report flags these uncertainties instead of presenting guesses as facts.
The audit is a diagnosis. Custom-code migration, implementation and repair are not included in the €49 price and can be quoted separately if needed.

Who is the audit for?
It is designed for Shopify agencies, freelancers, developers and merchants who need to understand what happened to custom theme code during an update. This is a B2B service for business customers only.
What is not included?
The audit identifies affected customizations and recommends what should be reviewed or reintegrated. Programming, repair and migration work are not included in the €49 audit.
What if the custom code was not commented?
Uncommented custom code may still be detectable through custom snippets, sections, assets, metafields, functions, CSS or unusual changes. Isolated edits inside standard theme files cannot always be attributed with certainty; the report marks those limitations clearly.
Can I use the audit after the update has already happened?
Yes. You only need an export of the customized theme from before the update and an export of the new theme version after the update.
What if a reliable audit is not possible?
If the uploaded files do not provide enough evidence for a meaningful Theme Update Audit, the purchase price will be refunded in full.
When will I receive the result?
The audit is generated automatically and manually quality-checked before delivery. You will receive the English report by email within 24 hours after both theme files have been uploaded successfully.
Theme Audit Privacy Notice
How your audit data is handled
Data processed: your name, purchase email, optional store URL and notes, both uploaded theme ZIPs, and the technical analysis and report generated from them.
Purpose: purchase verification, performance of the requested audit, fraud prevention, manual quality review, delivery and customer support. The files are not published or reused for unrelated projects.
Service providers: the audit uses hosting, email delivery, Freemius for checkout and payment verification, and an automated analysis provider to generate the technical report. Only the data required for each service is processed.
Retention and contact: audit files are retained only as needed to complete, review and deliver the service and to handle legitimate follow-up questions. For data-access or deletion requests, use the contact details in the legal notice. The site-wide privacy policy provides the full controller and statutory information.
